With a passion to create change- Melissa was determined to bridge the gap in Women’s health. Physical, emotional and mental support surrounding pre-pregnancy, birth preparation, loss, and aftercare for postpartum recovery for years had been lacking. Enduring this herself, she found huge holes where women’s issues were being overlooked and deemed ‘normal’ just because they are common. Issues such as incontinence, chronic lower back pain, diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse- for so long have been spoken about as ‘normal’ post baby symptoms with limited guidance on how to actually rehab, strengthen, and take control of over our own bodies. Melissa started her postpartum classes with a mission to change the conversation- Training after baby is not about weight loss- It is very much intentional movement, goal oriented, and focused on specific strengthening and rehab for the core and pelvic floor - while moving pain and symptom free. She works closely with many Pelvic floor physios, Chiros, RMT’s, Yoga instructors in Simcoe County to best support our clients from a wide rage of interdisciplinary approaches.
